The pillar towards continuous innovation lies in Hovid's strong R&D capabilities. It is not surprising then that Hovid's innovations have won the company pioneer status in being the first in the world and Malaysia to introduce the following:

  • FIRST in Malaysia and the world to have developed a commercial scale integrated process for extracting valuable carotenoids and tocotrienols (type of vitamin E with superior properties over tocopherols) from palm oil
  • FIRST in the world to develop the self-emulsifying 'SupraBio system' for improved absorption of Tocotrienols in the human body.
  • FIRST soft gelatin encapsulation plant in Malaysia with pioneer status from the Ministry of International Trade and Industry

Continuing in this endeavor to improve people's heath, Hovid allocates a substantial percentage of its revenue into research and development annually.:

With the largest R&D staff strength in Malaysia where more than 20 professional scientists and lab executives work constantly on developing new products and special delivery systems, an average of 12 new products are launched annually.

Hovid has developed technologies that are patented both locally and internationally. Transcending ethical drugs and supplements our R&D also encompasses personal care and consumer products, specialty products, dermatological, disinfectants and herbals.
